Organisations can get involved in the Single Parent Rights campaign in many ways. #SingleParentRights
We already have over twenty organisations which back the campaign. Supporter organisations can be silent backers, or get involved in campaign activities from sharing our petition on social media, to conducting joint lobbying work in Parliament. Our list of supporters is available here.
There are 2.9 million single parents in the UK with 70% employed outside the home. Single parents are a valuable asset to all teams, and the motherhood advantage can be seen time and again in single parents’ work ethic, from determination and multitasking, to motivation and efficiency. Read more on our page for employers and see which of our single parent inclusive HR policies your organisation can adopt.
Single parents repeatedly report being charged a ‘single parent supplement’, from days out to health insurance packages. Businesses looking to encompass their values of inclusivity are starting to redesign the traditional two parent, two child family ticket, and offer more inclusive pricing structures. Click here to learn more about how your business can ensure they are being inclusive in their pricing structures.
We welcome donations to our campaign which can help cover the costs of design, printing and promotion and ensure our single parent volunteers aren’t out of pocket while trying to make real change for their children and other single parent families. Donations can be made here.
We are happy to conduct bespoke workshops, or provide a presentation to your organisation on single parent inclusion. Contact us here to find out more about our packages and pricing.
We often hold events about the campaign. You can find our more about our upcoming events here, and listen to recordings of previous events, from activist training events to presentations at the Universities of Oxford and Chester.
Take our key actions below and encourage your followers/staff/clients to do so too by sharing on social media.
