activist support

building a movement

The Single Parent Rights’ campaign is a movement of single parent activists. All those involved in the campaign are volunteers and offer their time for free. The aim of the campaign is to push for the rights of single parents to be enshrined in the Equality Act. However, we can only do that by creating a movement amongst single parents across the UK. Our strength is in our numbers and our collaboration. We are here to provide support to you - single parent activists - to take the campaign forward and to take on your own campaigns as single parent activists.

what can I do?

Single parent activists can get involved in the campaign by taking part in the key campaign actions outlined on this page, from signing and sharing the petition, to getting your council to pass a motion in support of the campaign.

However, that’s just the start. We’ve come up with a few ideas below of how you can take single parent activism to the next level, but single parents are the experts when it comes to what needs to change, so don’t stop there - form your own local group, or plan your own mini campaign and we can support you with it.
